UNC Charlotte is North Carolina's urban research university. Located in the state's largest metropolitan area, UNC Charlotte is among the fastest growing universities in the UNC System.


Now a research intensive university, UNC Charlotte is the fourth largest of the 16 institutions within the University of North Carolina system and the largest institution in the Charlotte region.

Just as the city has evolved, UNC Charlotte has as well. The university has anticipated and responded to this transformation by developing innovative academic programs and research centers in its seven colleges.

The Belk College of Business began collaborating with the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences on the Mathematical Finance program in 2003. Together, the two colleges have designed this program to develop a highly specialized talent pool to manage the increasingly complex financial series industry. Industry leaders have been actively involved in ensuring that the curriculum provides students with the essential knowledge needed to success in the fast-paced financial arena.
