Faculty

The Mathematical Finance program draws upon faculty from three departments within UNC Charlotte: the Department of Finance from the Belk College of Business, the Department of Economics from the Belk College of Business, and the Department of Mathematics from the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences.


Belk College students enjoy the advantage of learning from a full-time faculty that combines a passion for teaching and research with a commitment to their students’ success. Through innovative applied research the Department of Finance award-winning, PhD credentialed professors make significant contributions to applied and basic research. The Department of Finance faculty is published in their fields of expertise and many serve as consultants to top businesses around the globe.

The study of economics offers students a problem-solving discipline to foster their intellectual and career development. The Department of Economics faculty is dedicated to providing students a balanced and broad educational background and preparing them to choose from a wide range of career alternatives.

Mathematics and Statistics are fields that endeavor to define the world accurately in many different ways. The fields of study range from a B.S. or B.A. in Mathematics, an M.A. in Applied Statistics, or a Doctorate in Applied Mathematics. Our department has the one of the largest and most diverse staff on hand (over 60 faculty and staff) to help students achieve a degree in higher education.
