DOUBLE Degree Master’s Program in Finance

Earn two degrees on two continents with UNC Charlotte and the Shanghai University of Finance and Economics (SUFE).

In this double degree program, students study for one year at UNC Charlotte and two years at SUFE and earn both an M.S. in Mathematical Finance from UNC Charlotte and a Master's Degree in International Business from SUFE.

The UNC Charlotte degree is designed for students seeking careers in banking or other financial institutions, as well as regulatory bodies dealing with financial markets. Students will gain strong quantitative skills in mathematics and in-depth knowledge of financial instruments and markets.

The SUFE degree provides students with a solid understanding of finance, monetary economics, and banking regulation. Students completing the double degree program are prepared for analytical, modeling, portfolio evaluation, and risk management positions that require an international perspective and an ability to integrate financial analysis and advanced quantitative methods.

ABOUT THE PROGRAM

Students should initially apply to and enroll in, the Master’s in International Business at SUFE. After successful completion of the first semester of the program, and upon being admitted to the double degree program, students will undertake one academic year of study at UNC Charlotte in Charlotte, North Carolina. After successful completion of the academic year in the U.S., the student will return to SUFE to finish the remaining time of their study.

UNC Charlotte will provide program participants with information about the required student visa applications and will provide written pre-arrival orientation as well as an in-person orientation upon arrival in the U.S.

Upon request, UNC Charlotte can provide information regarding housing, will help students connect with the Chinese Student Association at UNC Charlotte, and will assist with applications for optional practical training.
