International Reception provides an opportunity for incoming students to learn, engage and network.

The Belk College of Business is proud to welcome 19 incoming international graduate students from global partner institutions. This select group of students was welcomed to UNC Charlotte by Steve Ott, Dean of the Belk College of Business, with an evening International Reception on Friday, August 24.

In his welcoming remarks Dean Ott echoed the thoughts of UNC Charlotte Chancellor Philip L. Dubois who shared that UNC Charlotte is "fully committed to a campus culture where our differences are celebrated as part of a vigorous intellectual community dedicated to academic freedom, robust debate and mutual respect.”

The reception provided an opportunity for incoming students to learn, engage and network. “We couldn’t be more honored and thrilled that you chose UNC Charlotte,” mentions Joël Gallegos, Assistant Provost for International Programs. “We have a network of over 50 institutions from around the world. We’re interested in cultivating our students and developing alumni from our programs that have lifelong connections with our institution and our UNC Charlotte community.”

This connection extends beyond their programs, as more than 60 percent of Belk College of Business alumni live and work in the Charlotte region, in addition to thousands more around the world. With more than 4,700 students and 100 full-time faculty, the Belk College is one of the Carolinas’ largest business schools. In one of the nation’s most dynamic business cities, top-tier talent and programs can be found at the Belk College of Business.

Global perspective for these international graduate students is largely shaped by the advantage that the city of Charlotte offers. In a city that Forbes ranked among the “Best Places for Business and Careers" and the “Best Cities for Jobs,” the Belk College is an extremely connected business school. The Center City campus is part of a major metropolitan skyline and just a few blocks away from six Fortune 500 companies.
